The Glo to the Xtreme had its grand opening in Grand Falls-Windsor on June 10, 2006. This indoor glow in the dark mini golf course is located on Station Road across from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, and it is owned and operated by Randy and Judy Wiseman.
It is an awesome place. When you hit your ball through this 18-hole mini golf course you get to go through a jungle, go underwater with the whales, or soar through outer space and lose your ball for a while in the Black Hole. When I went to the Glo to the Xtreme with my classmates to get pictures for my report, Mr. Wiseman gave us all a golf ball to play golf with. The ball glowed in the dark. Our Flat Pen Pals from Tany's Dell School in Harlow, England came with us too. They had a great time there, especially my flat pen pal, Flat Jack Stokes.
Even the golf clubs glowed in the dark. Under the black lighting everything glowed, even your clothes! The paintings on the walls are painted in a multitude of florescent colours which light up under the black light illuminating the course. The themes that were painted on the walls were painted by two local artists, Sylvia Snow and Terri Earle. On the day we visited, we saw Sylvia painting the game "A Barrel of Monkeys" on the wall. She is a good artist. Mr. Wiseman told us that he got some of his ideas from his two teenage daughters, Allison and Rebekah, especially for the music theme.
The Glo to the Xtreme is not only fun for children like us, but it is fun for people of all ages. Even seniors who are looking for something to do can come and enjoy a game of golf. Also, there is a lounge where people can socialize and relax with a coffee or a cold drink. The building also contains a meeting room that holds fifty people that can be used for business meetings, and companies can also rent the entire facility if they want to. It would be really great to have your birthday party there. Everyone should come out to the Glo to the Xtreme and enjoy the beautiful features that this mini golf course has to offer.
