Big Mouth’s Snack Shack

Big Mouth’s Snack Shack is located on 182C Lincoln Road.  It is located in the back of the same building which contains O’Reilly’s Barbering and Styling.  This barber shop has been declared as the best barber shop in Newfoundland for nine out of the past twelve years that the Best Barber Shop Contest has been running.  Mr. Mike O’Reilly’s barber shop has been open and in the same location since 1962.  If you visit the barber shop you will see all the cool pictures of old cars that cover the walls of the barber shop.  You will even see a photo of Mr. O’Reilly’s own 1969 Cougar on the walls.
Big Mouth’s Snack Shack opened in 2006.  The owners and operators of Big Mouth’s Snack Shack are Ted and Michelle Rowe.  They had to make a lot of renovations to the place that used to be an upholstery shop before using it as a restaurant.  They employ eleven people and they are open every day from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m..  Big Mouth’s Snack Shack specializes in gourmet theme food.  On their menu they serve: soups, home style meals, salads, steaks and ribs, slow roasted ribs, sandwiches, twisted tortilla wraps, Mexican beach food, stir fries, pasta, seafood, burgers, hotdogs, chicken dishes, tortilla pizza, etc..  One of their delicious appetizers is the Chicken Torpedoes which are taquitos fried, baked or BBQ with salsa and sour cream.  From the grill you can have The Surfing Samurai which is a marinated strip loin grilled in teriyaki sauce.  All the steaks and ribs are served with vegetable of the day and choice of fries, salad, creamy fettuccine, wild rice, mashed or baked spud and garlic bread.  Big Mouth’s Snack Shack offers dine in, take out and hot delivery.
Five of my classmates and I visited Big Mouth’s Snack Shack one day after school with our teacher and Denika Lewis’s mom.  We took our Flat Pen Pals from Tany’s Dell School in Harlow, England with us.  It was just like being at a beach.  It was really cool.  The swinging doors to the kitchen were shaped like surfboards.  There was a lot of beach stuff around.  We were allowed to pick a treat from the basket filled with toys.  My flat pen pal, Flat Jake Shepherd, really liked all the treats in the basket.  We all enjoyed our visit to Big Mouth’s Snack Shack where "Life’s a Beach."
