Central Pipeline

Ultramar is one of the largest networks in Eastern Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.  They began their Corner Store operations in 1995.  Since 1996, Ultramar has invested nearly 130 million dollars in renovating and building new service stations.  Ultramar has been "working hard to give you more."  Today it has 940 service stations, more than 230 Corner Store stations and 90 car washes which they call Ultrawash.  It began operations in Canada in Newfoundland And Labrador under the Golden Eagle banner.  The Golden Eagle has remained the company’s logo ever since.  One of the Ultramar Corner Store gas stations is Central Pipeline.  It is located on 41 Union Street.  There used to be a pond called Flood's Pond located on the property where Central Pipeline was constructed.  It has had many owners since it was built in the early 70s.  Fred Randell was the first owner.  It was first called the Golden Eagle and it had a car wash and a garage then.  Later it was turned into the Pipeline and now it is called Central Pipeline.
Today Central Pipeline offers a multi-service operation to its customers.  The current owner and operator is Robert Austin Vey.  Harold Sansome is the present manager.  You’ll find it all and much more at Central Pipeline. If you run out of milk, bread, sugar, etc. you can buy it here.  Fueling up your vehicle with gas has never been more enjoyable.  They have a wide range of pastries and muffins baked fresh on site in their ovens.  You can have gourmet coffee with your delicious muffin.  All their coffees are made from 100% Arabica beans.  You can also pick up a copy of our community newspaper, the Advertiser, at Central Pipeline.  The Advertiser’s first printing was April 8, 1936 and its office on High Street was then called the Blackmore Printing Office.
One day after school three of my classmates and I visited Central Pipeline with our teacher and Denika Lewis’s mom.  We took our Flat Pen Pals from Tany’s Dell School in Harlow, England with us.  Mrs. Paddock let us make our own Slushie.  I had a blue one and my lips were blue after I drank it.  They have an area where you can sit down and have a snack.  That’s where we drank our Slushies.  It was really fun pretending to pump gas.  My flat pen pal, Flat Murad Ali, thought it was great, too.  Thank you, Mrs. Paddock, for giving us a wonderful tour.
